The Use Of Camera Dollys

A camera dolly is a tool used in filming in order to create smooth horizontal movement in your shots. It is a wheeled cart that holds the camera steady whilst you move it. Some iterations of a dolly, such as the one we used at school, doesn't hold the camera itself but in fact allows you to set up a tripod on top of it - allowing you to move the camera on the tripod smoothly. This makes the dolly a very useful and versatile tool when it comes to filming, I personally should be using it quite a bit throughout our final video for this assignment.
